Türkiye lends a helping hand to France! Macron posts a thank-you message

In a statement posted on his social media account, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that support had been provided to France, which is battling forest fires, following similar assistance to Spain. Minister Yumaklı noted that action was taken in accordance with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s instructions and announced that two firefighting aircraft had been deployed in response to France’s request for assistance. Emphasizing that Türkiye, with its capabilities and experience, fulfills its responsibility not only to protect its own forests but also to protect the forests of other countries when needed, Yumaklı wished success to the crew heading out on the mission and the teams fighting the fires on the ground.

Minister Yumaklı highlighted the difficulty of responding to the wildfires that have been raging across Europe for days, stating, “Forests are not merely entrusted to us; they are the most precious legacy we will leave for future generations. With this awareness, we will resolutely continue our solidarity and efforts that transcend borders,” he said.

A MESSAGE IN TURKISH FROM MACRON

Following Türkiye’s dispatch of two firefighting aircraft to assist with the forest fires in his country, French President Emmanuel Macron posted a message in Turkish on his social media account saying, “Thank you, Türkiye.” Quoting Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı’s statement regarding the deployment of the planes, Macron responded by thanking Türkiye in Turkish for its support.
